With a Destination Named for a Scenic Highway… You Know We Love Roadtrippers!
30-A Suites is named for the beautiful stretch of Scenic Highway 30A we call home.
When a beach as gorgeous as ours here in South Walton County is known by a highway, you know we have an affinity for our guests who come to town on roadtrips!
Whether you get here via 331 from Birmingham or Memphis, or on I10 from Biloxi or Jacksonville, we know that you love to explore the back roads and side roads that make a road trip to the Gulf of Mexico an experience within the experience!
Obviously, you want to start with a thorough understanding of 30A itself!
Highway 98 will take you to the uber tourist meccas of Sandestin, Destin and Fort Walton Beach to the west and Panama City Beach to the east. From Silver Sands Outlets in Destin to Pier Park Mall in Panama City Beach, there are enough boutique shopping plazas and thrifty resale stores to make for a full day of bargain hunting!
From Destin you can take the new Mid-Bay Bridge Connector to SR 85 for easy access to the quaint old town charm of places like Niceville and Crestview where you can take SR 20 for quick access back to the funky little villages of DeFuniak Springs and Freeport. Be sure to check out the Victorian homes around DeFuniak Springs’ perfectly circular lake and the magnificent burgers at the hole-in-the-wall known as the Freeport Café only 10 minutes from our hotel!
Circling back toward 30A via the 331 bridge over the Choctawhatchee past the fabulous fishing at Jolly Bay, you will pass The Bay restaurant where you can enjoy eclectic waterfront cuisine and a fabulous sushi bar before exploring the legendary local artist haunt and roadside attraction at Elmore’s Landing.
