As the harvest orange of Thanksgiving gives way to the merry red and green of Christmas, Florida coastal towns along the Gulf of Mexico around Destin are definitely in the holiday spirit this year!

For those who missed the tree lighting ceremonies in Ft. Walton Beach, Destin Commons, and Seaside, you can still catch the City of Destin’s 30th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Community Center.
An outdoor family event with Santa Claus and entertainment provided by Noah’s Ark Bell Choir, Skylar Babin, Emerald Coast Theatre and the Destin Elementary Choir, those in need of a quick shot of spirit will find it here!
Refreshments will be served after the tree lighting. Toys and canned food for families in need are requested to ensure the season of giving stays focused where it is needed.
Playground Music Center presents a Tuba Christmas where more than 30 brass instruments play some of your favorite holiday classics. We will also have a stilt-walker making balloon animals, festive holiday music and a 12 Nights of Lights show to cap off the evening. Skate the night away at Baytowne on Ice. And don’t forget to stop by the Events Plaza and take your photo with Santa!
